We have made the difficult decision to close to new referrals as of the 23rd April 2025 because we will no longer have capacity to see any new clients before 30th June 2025 in which we will no longer be providing NHS Talking Therapies.

NHS Talking Therapies service will continue after the 30th June 2025 with one of the existing providers, Vita Health Group. If you wish to refer yourself into Talking Therapies please visit the Joined Up Care Derbyshire website for alternative providers who are accepting referrals.

We apologise that we cannot continue with the service going forwards and wish you all the best in your recovery journey.

Right Therapy, Right Time, First Time.

Your referral form supports us to provide the right therapy for you, as quickly as possible. It helps to

reduce our waiting lists before and after assessment and prevent repeated assessments, so you can

get the support you need, when you need it.

We can usually contact you to book your assessment on the same day (Monday-Friday).

By submitting a referral, you consent to us contacting you directly and sharing your information on

our internal systems.

For more information about this, please see our privacy statement.

You can withdraw your consent at any time, by contacting referrals.trentpts@nhs.net, or via

telephone on any of the numbers below.

So, you have completed your self referral...what happens now?

What Happens Next?

Therapy in person, by phone or online by secure video - it all works equally well but its your choice.

Your first appointment will last 50-60 minutes and will be delivered either face-to-face, by phone or online video.

At that appointment your therapist will discuss the best way to deliver your therapy with you.

Video/Telephone Therapy

Video or telephone therapy works really well if convenience and speed of access is important for you. Over the past year, we have treated 20,000 people using this method and their outcomes have been just as good as in-person therapy.  If you opt for video or telephone therapy for your assessment, your treatment will be delivered via this method.

In Person Therapy

If you prefer the in person approach, your therapist will arrange to see you at one of our clinics. In order to keep you and others safe, there will be some simple procedures in place at our clinics, which you and your therapist will follow. These will be explained in your appointment letter, so you will know what you need to do. We have already seen lots people in person, so you can feel confident about doing this.

As we are funded by the NHS, there is no cost to you for treatment.

You must however be registered with a GP in Derbyshire in order to access our services and you must be aged 16+ years.

If you are not registered with a GP in Derbyshire (or we don't cover the GP you have), you can find an IAPT service local to you by clicking on the button below.
